A Message from the Director
Dear Friends,
Since 2002, we have been a part of patients’ lives and each year we are filled with gratitude for this opportunity we treasure. Our years of service to leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients and families is only possible because of your unwavering support. 20 years of support!
These past years have been challenging in many ways due to the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, imagine learning you have cancer and need to go through chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant. Every clinic visit takes longer because of the need for social distancing and symptom checks. Plus, hospitals and clinics have to limit our usual visitors of friends and family in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
COVID did not cancel cancer and patients need our support and comfort more than ever before.
We are so thankful to those that gave of their time, treasure and talent last October to make our 20 Year Celebration a special success. Over 120 guests of family and friends joined together to mark the occasion at Pier 52 on a beautiful October evening, complete with a pink, sky sunset and starry night. We were treated to music by Fat Free Bob and the duo of John Meehan and Jodie Treloar Sampson. Over $22,000 was raised which will help us to offer comfort to more patients and families facing leukemia. Check out photos from the night here.
A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors and Silent Auction donors for helping to defray the cost of the evening. All funds raised by this event go directly to patients and families.
